Outer Banks Soundfront Homes for Your Wedding, Part I

February 7, 2010  |  Wedding Planning & Inspiration

When we were planning our wedding down in Nags Head I became pretty obsessed with looking at rental properties including some on the sound. While oceanfront venues are amazing, having a wedding on the sound can be just as beachy and with the sun setting on the sound, the views are magnificent. Here are some great soundfront properties on the Outer Banks that allow weddings. This is a first of two posts. Look for Part II later this week.

Lone Cedar II in Nags Head

Gorgeous inside and out and definitely works into any budget. There isn’t a lot of room to have a reception outside but the interior is beautiful and the views from the huge windows are amazing. Here is a link to the house.

Grande Ritz Palm in Duck

With a private beach on the sound, this home is great for a wedding. The home has a 10,000 square feet of space and comes with wedding rentals. Here is a link to the home.

Soundfront home in Kill Devils Hills

This home is definitely a nontraditional home for a wedding but when I saw it for the first time, I thought it had great potential for a beautiful outdoor wedding. The home itself is a duplex so you would have to rent both sides for the week. There is so much space for parking and I could see putting a tent in the back for the reception. There is even a gorgeous dock.

Croatan Ridge in Buxton

Unique home with views of the lighthouse and the ocean and right on the sound. The pool area is large enough for tables and the interior is beautiful for a indoor reception. The pool house with a caterer’s kitchen can be rented for an additional fee and is perfect for a wedding. Here is a link to the home.
